The International Music Summit in Ibiza is offering version number two of Arete, which is a wellness and performance retreat! Of course, this is by IMS co-founder Ben Turner, former head of Skrillex’s OWSLA label Blaise DeAngelo, and brand Remedy State!
Inspired by Greek concept “excellence through self-actualization,” Arete will offer physical, mental, and spiritual training for the mind, body, and soul to generate high performance and creative.
Arete is taking place at Sa Talaia Agroturismo from May 20-22, 2018, which is twelve days before the annual IMS event. According to Ben Turner, “The impact of our first event on the electronic music industry was profound and its influence on the subsequent IMS Summit was huge. We touched a nerve and we wish to continue sharing our insight with a fascinating group of individuals who can transform your health and mind and in turn your business,” referring to the September 2018 study that said 40% of live music promoters have struggled through depression.
Blaise D’Angelo adds, “We love music and the arts and want to support those around it to become the best possible versions of themselves. Being well is an important first step, and there’s still a lot of work to be done around wellness in the industry, but by expanding our focus around the ARETÉ concept, we believe we can help the industry not only heal, but excel.”
