Bridges For Music's 7th annual charity cycle gears up for a 550km ride from London to Amsterdam during ADE 2023.
The iconic Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is set to welcome the return of a distinctive charity cycle event this October, organized by the non-profit organization and record label, Bridges For Music. This remarkable initiative has become a mainstay of the annual music conference, combining fitness, fundraising, and the camaraderie of the global music industry.
On October 15th, the seventh edition of the Bridges For Music charity cycle will kick off, marking a 550km journey from London to Amsterdam. Having achieved cult status within the music industry, the yearly charity cycle has seen over 120 industry stalwarts participate in the past, including the likes of Richie Hawtin, Joris Voorn, Chris Liebing, Pan-Pot, Juliet Fox, and Jamiee.
DJ Rebekah, a two-time participant of the event, praised the experience, stating, “Joining the ADE/Bridges for Music Cycle was one of the most exhilarating yet challenging experiences, a true test of fitness. All whilst raising money for an awesome cause.”
The charity ride aims to raise funds for the Bridges Music Academy in South Africa’s Langa Township, as well as other under-resourced communities. The annual event has proved hugely beneficial in the past, raising £250,000 and enabling the Bridges Academy to expand its program. It strives to transform the lives of young students by offering over 200 students a year a free education via the innovative Bridges’ MUSIC MBA program. This unique curriculum blends creative entrepreneurship, mindfulness, and music.
This four-day route will honor Resident Advisor, the originators of the ADE cycle back in 2014, and depart from their headquarters in Shoreditch on October 15th. The tour promises strategic pit spots, professional cycle guides, support vehicles, and an array of provisions to keep the cyclists fueled and inspired. The ride concludes with the entrants triumphantly crossing the finish line on October 18th to a warm welcome by the ADE community.
Open to cyclists of all experience levels, the event has a welcoming approach that encourages novice riders to participate. Entrants will be grouped based on their fitness and ability levels, and those who cannot commit to the full journey are welcome to join for a portion of the tour. For those without a bike, rental options are available.
Registration offers a range of benefits, including an ADE Pro pass, three nights in four-star spa hotel accommodations, tour guides and support, luggage transport, meals, and an official ADE jersey. Entry fees start at £1,100 with fundraising commitments, or £2,000 without fundraising. There are also sponsored entries available for companies looking to support the cause.
