José Padilla recently announced a very sad news: he's suffering from colon cancer. He created a donation platform to help him finance his living expenses.
Most recently, José Padilla has been diagnosed with colon cancer. The Spanish artist has launched a GoFundMe to cover his living expenses. The period of crisis has been even harder for DJs, and many of them found themselves living in precarious conditions.
‘Some days ago I was taken to hospital and I have been diagnosed with colon cancer. And now I am waiting for an operation. My situation is very bad. I am completely broke after five months with no income whatsoever and no way to pay my rent. So humbly I ask if you can help me with your donations‘, José Padilla confided.
The disc jockey first went to Ibiza in 1976. And throughout his career, he has acquired residencies and played 10-hour sets, helping birth the Balearic sound. Thus, he is undoubtedly recognized as an architect of the chill-out sound with his famous Café Del Mar residency and the spin-off mix series.
Then, considered as one of the best-selling DJs of his generation, he worked with talented artists. In 2015, he collaborated with Mark Barrott, the International Feel head. Without forgetting Tornado Wallace and Jan Schulte on an album called ‘So Many Colours’.
But now, he needs your help. All donations, regardless of the amount, will help him pay his living expenses while he struggles to recover from his illness. You can click here to donate.
