The Grand Factory has recently put up a fundraising event to help rebuild the community in Beirut through Arts and Culture.
In the aftermath of the Beirut explosion, the thriving cultural and creative scene in the city is threatened. With an ongoing pandemic and a tightening economy, creative outlets in Beirut struggle to survive and Factory People is no exception. That is why they aim to rebuild their spaces to continue fostering the creative scene.
Ever since the pandemic hit Lebanon, The Grand Factory has put all of its focus on keeping its team safe and sound. Despite COVID-19 being exceptionally hard on our industry, They were able to maintain a family of 170 hard-working dreamers, each with their own families to support. They did so during the toughest economic conditions, that have affected all businesses. Yet, They managed to keep going and continued looking ahead to the time when their doors can open again.
The Grand Factory is a cultural landmark in the country and a platform for talent, accomplished and emerging, the fundraiser features a series of weekly streams by Factory People’s extended family of artists. This will happen on three weekends: May 13th – May 14th, May 27th – May 28th and June 10th – June 11th. Streaming starts at 7pm EEST (Eastern European Summer Time). Two rooms will be available for streaming: The Grand Factory Room and The Reunion Room.
We’d like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to never forget about what happened on August 4th, 2020, and never stop talking about Beirut. You can help Save the Grand Factory by donating through the link HERE.
