About Bolster Music
Bolster Music is a digital & creative agency specialising in music, events and entertainment. They build world-class campaigns, content and products for teams and brands to connect with, and grow their audiences.
Bolster started as an artist management business in 2011. At the time Alex was working in the family bizz (music instrument distribution) running club nights, an independent record label and managing the DJs signed to it. Anthony, who was selling online advertising in Sydney, wanted a new challenge – he’d spotted a band he loved, took a punt, quit his job, started living off his credit card and entered the world of artist management. For extra cash he started an underground meatball sub delivery service (ask him about it).
Together they started Bolster Music. Nicky was there working part time as a graphic designer.
Noticing that the music industry wasn’t taking advantage of new ad-tech solutions in e-comm land and traditional media agencies weren’t hitting the mark, Anthony and Alex started to offer effective solutions in the digital space.
July 1st 2015, with zero outside funding and $0 to their names, Alex and Anth decided to make Bolster a thing. Bolster hired its first employee in August that same year. December 2015 the team had grown to 22. Jan 2016 Nicky returned from the UK to start Bolster Creative. March 2016 Launched Linktree. September 2016 Launched BigSound Buzz. October 2017 Launched LNWY.CO.
So, how would we sum up Bolster?
It’s the culmination of a love of music, a curious passion for data and tech, unmatched knowledge of the digital and entertainment space, an eye for identifying opportunities where others see obstacles, and a whole lot of hustle.
