Renowned artist moktar is back in 2023, showcasing his Egyptian pride through his latest release and a groundbreaking event concept called QARAE.
Combining his love for edgier UK club sounds and precise percussion, his new single “All Like That” seamlessly blends Arabic expressions of love and praise with infectious breakbeat rhythms.
With a desire to share his culture through music, Moktar explains, “I wanted to take things up a notch in tempo and incorporate words like ‘Habibi’ and ‘Alhamdulillah,’ which hold deep cultural significance for me.” This unique blend of influences sets the stage for his new musical offerings.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Moktar is expanding his creative vision with QÄRÄE, an event concept set to debut at Tasmania’s esteemed Dark Mofo festival on June 18th. The event will feature a curated lineup showcasing sounds from the Middle East and North Africa, including performances by Egyptian/Australian rapper Kid Pharaoh and DJ Nooriyah, who is known for her S.W.A.N.A-focused events. Moktar has ambitious plans to take this concept on an international scale.
