The new label MFC Records is on its way, with the very great concept of releases having general themes, and profits going to non-for-profit organizations!
BitterCaress has been pursuing her own musical path for several years. On January 29th she will launch her own Techno label, named MFC Records!
This independent label, based in Montreal, has been created by BitterCaress and welcomes the artistic director Quint. This fundraising project has been established as a way to support newcomers, fresh talents, and already established artists from all over the world.
According to them: ‘The techno scene has always been on the frontline to encourage social progress and to fight against any form of oppression. We, at MFC Records, come together as activists and a music-based community. With this label, we aim to raise awareness about causes that are dear to us as we believe we can aspire for a better world through music.‘
They will propose various artists compilations, each having a different general theme, but also a single artist EP, that will address a specific cause dear to their heart.
Another great feature is that all proceeds from the releases will go to carefully chosen non-for-profit organizations beforehand! Indeed, each release on their label will support a different cause and raise funds for a new organization.
Their first release is Various Artists. The general theme is: Strangers in their own world. A manifesto to raise awareness about Human Rights.
Each artist is invited to produce a track related to the theme stated above.
Here are the general themes of each track:
– Aahan : isolation.
– Alexa Borzyk : mental health and homelessness during COVID 19.
– Inside Blur : police brutality
– KORVN : homeless poeple
– ottoman.grüw : a better future
The non-for-profit organization supported for this first release will be the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), an American civil rights organization!
Don’t miss the release!
