The film ‘This is Ibiza’ will be out on June 5th, to rent or buy on Amazon Prime. This film is the result of a 3-year work done by directors Jody Hall and Mindaugas Volkis. Not forgetting Jermaine Whitehead-Bailey, who took care of the animation. The talented Scottish producer and Ibiza resident, James iD, agreed to collaborate on the soundtrack.
In reality, we don’t know much about this Balearic Island, except its amazing landscapes and the outstanding music and dance shows organized there. So ‘This is Ibiza’ is a great initiative, and even more when you can’t visit Ibiza at the moment. It will show you the world-famous island’s backstages.
Ibiza is, from the outset, the capital of electronic music and partying. It is definitely the place to go to spend unforgettable moments between friends. Also, everyone knows how amazing its white sand beaches and sunsets are. Over time, the island has got a lot of negative press and media exposure, which may have influenced our view of it. This film goes deep into Ibiza’s spirit, made of freedom, love, and music. It even goes back to the origins of the “White Island”, a place where both diversity and harmony remain.
In this film, you will find unique and insightful interviews of biggest brands’ owners. Indeed, many of them were involved for this film: Elrow, Defected, Pacha, O Beach Ibiza, Chuckie, The Zoo Project, Sam Divine, and lots of others. These interviews provide us with another point of view, essential to understand the whole history of Ibiza. Besides, a lot of people participated in the project: Paul Van Dyk, Nick Warren, Lovely Laura, Sam Divine, and way more others.
But that’s not all. Added to that, the directors also gave the floor to the locals, upcoming DJs, music loving clubbers and the VIP clientele, who have all been involved in the island’s evolution. These people are part of its history and that’s important for them to be heard as well. In that way, activities inside the clubs, retreats, nature, boat trips, illustrate the interviews.
Don’t hesitate to watch the trailer, waiting for the release, on Friday, June 5th. The same day, an event is organized for those of you who live nearby. Indeed, a launch party will take place at Sunset Ibiza in San Antonio.
