After fifty years at the heart of club culture, Amnesia is far from done reinventing itself—and plans to dazzle once again in 2026. Music continues to make hearts beat in Ibiza, in the club where it all began.

Founded in 1976 by Antonio Escohotado, Amnesia first opened its doors under the name “Workshop of Oblivion,” a concept that would go on to define the venue’s identity. Shortly afterwards, it was renamed Amnesia—a word of Greek origin that embodies the club’s core values: letting go, forgetting your worries, embracing freedom, and fully living in the present moment. Half a century later, those values feel more essential than ever: in a world that moves fast, nothing compares to a night at Amnesia.

Throughout 2026, the legendary club will celebrate its golden jubilee with a series of special events—major guests and cultural collaborations that promise to make this year a historic one.

After five decades, Amnesia is no longer just a club: it’s an institution that has helped underground values thrive in a scene that’s constantly evolving. True to its philosophy, the club is using this symbolic anniversary to remind everyone that, despite the era of superficiality and social media—where many prefer filming to living the moment—in this sanctuary, nothing has changed.

While Ibiza follows trends, Amnesia remains true to itself, offering a unique experience infused with rebellion: an invitation to dance inside a real time capsule where only the present moment matters.

So for its opening, there’s no question of throwing a small party—Amnesia is going big. And what better way than a lineup Ibiza fans will still remember 50 years from now:

On the Terrace, the emblem of Ibiza’s clubbing culture, house and techno lovers will be able to lose themselves to the sounds of Ceri, Enzo Siragusa, Fleur Shore, Josh Baker, Joseph Capriati, Luke Dean, Marco Faraone, Max Dean, Mart-T, and Seth Troxler.

The Main Room, with its darker atmosphere, promises an intense night, with 999999999, Amelie Lens, Alan Fitzpatrick, Fatima Hajji, Luca Donzelli, and Luxi Villar behind the decks.

To end on a high, nothing beats the announcement of Joseph Capriati as the headliner for this opening, which is shaping up to be epic. His presence seems to confirm rumors of Metamorphosi’s return to the club—to the delight of his fans.

Over the decades, Amnesia has hosted residencies that made history and helped shape the island’s electronic music heritage: Cocoon, La Troya, Cream, Music On, Elrow, and Paradise—and more recently Pyramid, Resistance, and Glitterbox. The list is still long, and it surely hasn’t stopped growing.

Amnesia’s 2026 opening party will take place on Saturday, May 9, from 11pm until the early morning.
