Beatport is an online music store oriented to electronic music! They have decided to ask the music research and analytics platform Viberate to look into the numbers and create a comprehensive report for this popular Electronic music domain.

Musicians and labels quickly turned to streams and digital releases since the COVID-19 started. Beatport, CEO Robb McDaniels confirmed that they’ve seen a 10–20% increase in the number of releases coming through Beatport, and are expecting this to continue well into 2021.

Genre popularity also reflects the success of the fastest-rising labels on Beatport in 2020. Defected took the mantle, followed by Anjunadeep, Club Sweat, 1605, and Ultra.

When it comes to the most popular individuals, David Penn was named the best-performing House artist on Beatport by Viberate, UMEK took the Techno throne, and Break was named the top Drum & Bass artist.
