You all know that here on Clubbing TV, we love the underground dance music scene and it’s a growing trend throughout the world! So, guess what, we’ve got you covered on the top five underground venues and parties you must visit!
In modern popular music, the term “underground” refers to performers or bands ranging from artists that do DIY guerrilla concerts and self-recorded shows to those that are signed to small independent labels. It’s hidden talent you are bound to discover! Allow us to unveil some of the locations to discover for you!
De-School, Amsterdam
This location opened in 2016 and actually takes place in a former technical school. De-School is more than a night-club, it also turns into a concert venue, restaurant, cafe, exhibition space, and gym as it operates for 24 hours, seven days a week. Being able to fit more than 700 people, it is located in the technical school’s former bicycle storage area and focuses on local DJs by allowing them to perform extended sets.
Now, De School is owned and run by Post CS BV, the same crew in charge of Trouw and Club 11.
Some artists who performed here include Oceanic, Job Jobse, Elias Mazian, Interstellar Funk, JP Enfant, Cinnaman, Jasper Wolff, and Maarten Mittendorff.

After you watch the video, tell us, if your school turned into a club, what would it look like?
Berghain/Panorama Bar, Berlin
To enter Berghain is, as many people have described it, a religious experience. The club is located in a former power plant in Friedrichshain, near Berlin Ostbahnhof railway station.
Sitting in a dusty lot on the border of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, Berghain is widely considered one of the world’s best nightclubs. It has three dance floors: Berghain, a dark main room where most DJs play techno, Panorama Bar, an upstairs space that’s more focused on house, and the Säule on ground floor, though the music policy in all rooms is very open-ended.
Artists presented there before? Nick Hoppner, Marcel Dettmann, Tama Sumo, Ben Klock, Sammy Dee, Boris, and Norman Nodge!

Then tell us, which underground artist do you think would be perfect for this venue?
Cave Rave Ibiza
Cave Rave Ibiza is located on a benevolent millionaire’s private estate. If you really want to get your Sherlock on, then this is the place to find! It’s an invite only estate that is literally in a cave!
The parties feature DJs from other big names on the island like Cocoon and Minus Records, as well as free alcohol. Imagine if a Bond villain gave up his life of crime to dedicate himself to orchestrating the perfect rave, or if The Great Gatsby took place in present-day Ibiza instead of 1920s New York – that’s what you’ll get to experience over here!

And because Cave Rave has got you playing Sherlock, tell us who would be your Dr. Watson!
Cocorico, Riccione, Italy
Cocorico is located in Italy near Rimini, in Riccione. The club is famous for its enormous glass pyramid, which holds raves of thousands of people.
This place will make you feel like you’re in another world. It’s a pyramid structure that follows the idea of ascension and transparency – overall giving a vision of infinity. The evolution of the club has a characteristic, with Cocorico as a symbol. The location’s organizers believe that any photograph you’ve ever taken is immediately an image of the past.
Some DJs who’ve evoked this message as well by performing at the venue are Cirillo, Andrea Arcangeli, Idriss D, Fabrizio Maurizi, Federico Grazzini, Ilario Alicante, Ricky Montanari, and Alex Neri.

Basement New York City, USA
This place is New York’s newest techno nightclub and is located beneath the main hall of former Queens’s glass factory Knockdown Centre, which was built in 1903. The new venue sits beneath the main hall of Knockdown Center in Queens. Accessible via a separate entrance, it’s situated in a network of brick tunnels that were originally used to heat the full building, which was built as a glass factory in 1903. BASEMENT’s owners describe the setup as an “industrial catacomb… making it ideal for techno.”
For Basement’s opening party just last May 10, Rebekah, Heidi Sabertooth, and Ne/Re/A performed, while Aurora Halal, Etapp Kyle, Fiedel, FJAAK, Function, Shlomo, Shdw & Obscure Shape, and Tin Man are featured by the venue as well!
