Los Angeles, CA - In an unprecedented move that merges the realms of electronic music and automotive culture, Stranger Than; a prominent force in LA's nightlife scene, is set to launch the first-ever music series on the rooftop of the renowned Petersen Automotive Museum. The inaugural event will take place on July 2nd, 2023, and will feature eclectic sets from two respected selectors, Adam Ten and Dead-Tones. The event will run from 5pm to 10pm, promising an unforgettable evening for attendees.
The connection between electronic music and the automotive industry has long been established. From the futuristic sounds of Detroit techno to the industrial landscapes of Germany that inspired Kraftwerk, the partnership between these two worlds has been evident throughout history. Stranger Than; aims to explore and celebrate this interplay by collaborating with the Petersen Automotive Museum, an institution that has been showcasing the artistry and innovation of automobiles since its inception in 1994.
The July 2nd event will showcase the forward-thinking musical curation of rising Israeli star Adam Ten and Los Angeles’ own underground maven, Dead-Tones. As both artists are highly regarded in the house and techno genres, attendees can expect a diverse and captivating musical experience.
The rooftop of the Petersen Automotive Museum, never before used as a musical venue, will serve as the extraordinary setting for the event. The museum itself is an architectural marvel, featuring a striking stainless-steel ribbon facade that will create a unique backdrop for the performances. Prior to reaching the rooftop, ticket holders will have the exclusive opportunity to explore three floors of the museum, including the current “We Are Porsche” exhibit, a celebration of the iconic automaker’s 75th anniversary, featuring over forty one-of-a-kind Porsche vehicles.
Stranger Than;’s reputation for hosting events in unconventional locations precedes them. Led by founder Tal Ohana, the collective has introduced urban venues throughout Los Angeles, including Grand Park, El Pueblo, Ace Mission Studios, and Cabrillo Beach. Their expertise in musical curation and innovative production has garnered them partnerships with global institutions such as CircoLoco and the famed Burning Man soundcamp Mayan Warrior. With the introduction of this groundbreaking music series at the Petersen Automotive Museum, Stranger Than; further solidifies its status as a trailblazer in the LA nightlife scene.
In addition to the upcoming July 2nd event, Stranger Than; has hinted at more shows to be announced at the Petersen Automotive Museum, promising a continued exploration of the intersection between music and automotive culture.
