Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, DJ Pierre, Francesca Lombardo, and Cassy are only a few of the artists that have contributed in the ‘Mixmag presents ‘Teddy Pendergrass: The Remixes,’ which is inspired by the newest feature length documentary, “Teddy Pendergrass – If You Don’t Know Me,.”
Through the EP, some of Teddy Pendergrass’ tracks are modernized, Jamie Jones remixing ‘Life is a Song Worth Singing,’ Damian Lazarus remixing ‘I Don’t Love You Anymore,’ Francesca Lombardo remixing ‘Do Me,’ and ‘Only You’ remixed by Cassy.
‘Teddy Pendergrass – If You Don’t Know Me’ is a documentary by Mixmag’s company Wasted Talent, which shows how Teddy Pendergrass made a name for himself in the midst of the popularity of Marvin Gaye, Barry White, and Michael Jackson. In the words of the film’s producer, Piers Tempest, “Teddy’s story is an important and ultimately inspiring one and we are delighted to help shine a light on the man and his music”. Nick DeCosemo, who is the Global Editorial Director of Mixmag adds, “It’s a testament to Teddy’s influence and legacy that some of the biggest names in contemporary dance music jumped at the chance to remix his classic tracks. Mixmag is so proud to help honour Teddy’s legacy and bring his music to a new generation of fans.”
