Secret Cinema founded Gem with the philosophy to sign solely tracks that will withstand the sands of time. Gem Records looks to push the conventional boundaries of electronic music and showcase the artists who believe in the art of music. Jeroen “Secret Cinema” Verheij founded Gem Records in 2009. The philosophy of Gem Records is to sign solely tracks that will withstand the sands of time by trying to avoid the current hype while still sounding fresh in today’s scene. The sound of the label is broad as the spectrum played by it’s founder ranging from underground house and techno to that big room techno sound it is most known for.
The artists signed to the Gem Booking agency are trailblazers such as Egbert, Enrico Sangiuliano and Reinier Zonneveld. The label showcase ‘Gem Sessions’ has gone from sold out shows in the legendary Amsterdam Melkweg to all-nighters at venues such as Toffler and Whoosah. Gem is renowned for their live editions with two or more artists b2b all night.
