French EDM producer Jack Perry spent two decades toiling in obscurity as a touring DJ before settling in Toulouse, where he became the resident DJ and art director of one of the largest nightclubs in the south of France. It was at this time that he first turned his hand to producing his own music, influenced by the house and electro records he spun in his sets. He first came to attention in 2013 with his thumping debut single “One More,” which combined elements of electro, house, trance, and dubstep with hoover synth lines and a vaguely Eastern melody. Its modest success persuaded Perry to continue in production and in 2015 he had his first big hit with the follow-up, “Dime,” a unique fusion of EDM and Afro-Cuban influences. The single was a huge club hit in his native France and across Europe, entering the club Top Ten in Spain and topping the Shazam charts in several countries. Within six months it had nearly three and a half million hits on YouTube, doubtless fueled in part by its sexy video featuring beautiful young people cavorting on a beach in Palma, Spain.
