About Pangaea Festival
Pangaea Festival began in 2006 when an ambitious bunch of students from The University of Manchester decided to throw an all-night party which provided both real variety and value for money. This thrice yearly festival has rapidly grown in popularity and size, and is now a key date in both the Manchester and national student calendar. We pride ourselves on curating an eclectic musical mix. The combination of the imaginative, creative and talented folk of the University of Manchester with the best up-and-coming talent from the North West, alongside internationally renowned headliners means Pangaea is like no other student party in Manchester and beyond. So whether its dub, bass, electronic, pop, garage, funk, grime, house, techno, big band or disco that’s up your street, you’ll find it amidst our 15 indoor and outdoor spaces.
The festival has always been a production spectacular with high-level lighting creations, incredible decorations, silent discos, carnival processions and spectacular installations transforming spaces into themed masterpieces, as well as all manner of tipis, yurts, big tops and domes. Pangaea goers are costume lovers and over the years our themes have seen a fleet of giraffes, stilt-walking aliens and human toadstools wander through our doors.
