Porter Robinson takes a different route for his music, by using his track “Shelter” for an anime music video.
It had its live debut via digital billboard to a live audience in Tokyo's Shibuya District, and was created in association with A-1 Pictures and Crunchyroll, the leading global destination for streaming Japanese anime.
The video is emotionally moving, the track telling the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness.
This musical collaboration between Porter Robinson and Madeon impressed Shortlist, the magazine saying, “Shelter is exactly why you expect – in a good way – huge synths, pumping compression and far more emotion than the average EDM track.”
