We all know that our festivals these days are not just for the enjoyment of people, but they’re also acting on philanthropic cases. Sonar+D collaborated with Hospital Vall d’Hebron’s Department in the recording studio of an immersive audio piece for medical professionals. It’s pretty cool because it allows them to experience sensations felt by patients thanks to a binaural sound creation that reproduces the sounds of the hospital in 360 degrees.
The entire thing is intended for use by health workers to empathize with their patients.
In the words of Ventura Barba, Sonar+D Executive Director, “In this sense, the challenge presented to us by the Vall d’Hebron Hospital has been enormously stimulating: beyond just the creative and / or technological experience itself, implying that we had a more important objective, which was to improve empathy between physicians and patients.”
