Orange is the New Black star Taryn Manning shows that she is more than just a phenomenal actress, but she knows how to pour her emotions out as well in her new single “The Light,” which has just been released alongside a remix EP courtesy of Lodato.
Taryn is known as Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett in the Netflix series, but little do people know that she has actually been establishing her musical career during her Hollywood process as well. Her 2017 single was “GLTCHFE” and hit #1 on the Billboard Dance charts, while “The Light” is her first electro-pop instrumental, enhancing her raw, emotion-packed vocals while singing about self-defeat and overcoming your battles.
When it comes to what her inspiration was behind the track, she shares, “I wrote the Light during a tough time in my life when I felt I had nowhere to turn. In life, periods of darkness will always be inevitable, but we are always given a choice – either stay in the light or surrender to the darkness. As the title suggests, I choose the light.”
