Erick Morillo is dropping his first release of the year entitled “Fifth Element!”
The Colombian-American DJ is going back to his underground roots with track “Fifth Element,” which features orchestral arpeggios and a progressive breakdown. The single provides that raw, stripped-back house we all love Morillo for! In his words about the song, “For a long time I have been wanting to produce a melodic record with an orchestral build,” he explained. “I love the energy I was able to create with the percussions and I am really looking forward to seeing the reaction to this record as my dance floors have been on fire these last couple of months.”
This is actually the first track of Morillo’s under SONDOS imprint after “Cartegena,” which was highlighted last summer. “Fifth Element” also comes after “Medication,” which is a collaboration with Jamie Jones and Gene Farris.
Among some of the events that Morillo had been performing at lately include DC10, Watergate, Amnesia, Resistance, NYC Downlow, and Ants, to name a few!
