Some Ukrainian buildings destroyed by the Russian invasion became 'clean-up raves' for volunteers who are missing Ukraine's techno festivals!
More than 200 volunteers gathered on a destroyed building in Ukraine. Indeed, a few months after the bombing of Russia, a building has been hosting a Techno rave to clean it up!
Young Ukrainians have been using dance parties to aid the recovery effort. In the continuity of this, they organized this daytime rave. In northern Ukraine, Yahidne, revelers worked to clean and rebuild their cultural center while a DJ was playing!
Most of the volunteers were coming from the city of Kyiv, 2hours away. Indeed, a night-time curfew in the capital Kyiv forced lovers of Ukraine’s party culture to combine the fun and freedom of a festival with rebuilding their homes.
“Techno parties, especially rave festivals, it was our lifestyle before, when we met with friends and spent time,” one of the group’s organisers said, “we miss it and we want to come back to normal life but our normal life now is volunteering.” — abc news
The clean-up was not the group’s first time! This was their eighth event so far, restoring the center and 15 homes in the village!
