Ryoichi
However, let’s talk about one of the biggest parts of Gamma Pro 2020, which is a live AV performance entitled “subassemblies” by Japanese artist and musician Ryoichi Kurokawa.
Through “subassemblies”, Ryoichi explores the relationship between the concepts of nature and human-made items, also drawing the viewer’s attention to the transition of the phenomena of abstract and concrete. Audio and visual concordance is key in Kurokawa’s works, he is a true poet of the transformative visuality.
The performance of Ryoichi Kurokawa is supported by the Consulate General of Japan in St. Petersburg. Here’s a feature of the Japanese artist if you’re interested!

And when we weren’t sure that Ryoichi Kurokawa could get even more talented, here are some of his awards and fellowships!
Previously, he’s been a director of Kinetic Media Lab/ACT at the Asia Cultural Center in Gwangju in 2016. From 2011-202, he was a Guest Professor/Invited Artist at Le Fresnoy in Studio National des Arts Contemporains at Tourcoing. And, the year before he did that, he was a Golden Nica at Prix Ars Electronica for the Digital Musics and Sound Art category in Linz.
