A key figure in Detroit’s techno scene since 1989, he has illustrated iconic record covers for labels such as Metroplex, Transmat, Underground Resistance, and Planet E. He later studied graphic illustration at the College for Creative Studies, graduating in 1991 and dedicating his career to Afrofuturist art.Beyond album covers, Haqq has crafted narratives for Underground Resistance and Drexciya, helping shape their mythologies. His Book of Drexciya, Volume One was recognized by the British Library in London. Exhibited worldwide, his work explores techno as a tool for cultural reinvention and liberation.
