Clubbing Trends 42 – Summer Getaway
Welcome
It’s another episode of Clubbing Trends here on Clubbing TV! Hello everyone, I’m your host – Gianna Llanes!
“Dance with the waves, move with the sea. Let the rhythm of the water set your soul free.” That’s a little quote by Christy Ann Martine that hints a little bit of what we’ll be talking about today – the essence of summer!
The summer season is coming up, so we’re planning your perfect hot season getaway with this selection of festivals that just get every part of their party right! This selection of festivals promises you won’t go home empty handed, with their quest for new cultural and social experiences. Nowadays, music festivals are not only centered on being a getaway, but an exploration of being a different country as well with its music, history and culture, nightlife, sightseeing, and gastronomic delights. So, whether you’re in to dance to the beat of the city, or you want to splash into the water, here are four of our dream festivals where you can bask into the sun!
Secret Solstice
Let’s begin with glacier raves and surreal midnight sunshine in Iceland! Let’s begin with Secret Solstice, happening from June 21 to 24.
Secret Solstice is all about the place where the sun doesn’t set for all 96 hours, where you can party at midnight with it still being bright! This party in Reykjavik is the perfect summer paradise with its natural and rugged landscapes and backdrops. You would be celebrating good music in a glacier or a 5,000 year-old lava tunnel, depending on the genre! Secret Solstice also features boat parties where you can enjoy the waterfalls, sand beaches, caves, and volcanic fields on special day trips.
And, because it’s Secret Solstice’s fifth anniversary, they promise their biggest edition yet this 2019!
Some of the acts confirmed for this festival include: Black Eyed Peas, Robert Plant and the Sensational Spaceshifters, Martin Garrix, Rita Ora, Patti Smith, Morcheeba, The Sugarhill Gang with Grandmaster Melle Mel & Scorpio, Foreign Beggars, Pussy Riot, Kerri, Chandler, MK, Mr.G, Jeremy Underground, Boy Pablo, SMASH TV and many more!
Watch Secret Solstice’s video to see what they’re all about this summer! https://www.facebook.com/secretsolstice/videos/2255524424503716/
Then, let us know where you would rather party: in a 5,000 year-old lava tunnel, or in a glacier? How could would either one be, right?

Exit Festival
We spoke about this 17th century fortress festival during our last episode of Clubbing Trends. Can you guess what it is?
Exit Festival, which is happening from July 4 to 7, is a party in a 17th century fortress overlooking the danube in Serbia. This is an award-winning music festival in Novi Sad and began back in the year 2000 as a student protest fighting for political change. Now, with thousands partying high on a cliff over the river, they continue to fight for the same theme of ‘Freedom.’
What Exit Festival prides itself on is its diverse lineup with performers on more than 20 outdoor stages, offering death metal, pop, indie, reggae, and techno. As the sun rises on the ancient walls of the Petrovaradin fortress, the festival has nothing but good energy. DJ Nina Kraviz even closed off the 2018 edition saying that it was “one of the most special places on earth.”
And, with Exit Festival creeping in this July 2019, some of the acts they’ve already announced include: The Cure, Skepta, Amelie Lens, Boris Brejcha, Carl Cox, Charlotte De Witte, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Desiigner, Dj Snake, Greta Van Fleet, IAMDDB, Jeff Mills, Lost Frequencies, Maceo Plex, Paul Kalkbrenner, Peggy Gou, Philip H. You can bring your own camping gear or rent luxurious accomodations at the Rabbit Resort, where you can eat from the dozens of restaurants, swim, enjoy the campfire, and discover hidden discos around the area.
