The famous Love Parade of Berlin wanted a fresh start and comes back this year on July 9th under the new name 'Rave the Planet'
In 1989, Matthias Roeingh aka Dr. Moth creates the Love Parade in Berlin to protest against the Wall. At first, only hundreds of people were gathered around a tiny truck playing some techno. Then, each year, the crowd was growing more and more. It became one of the biggest musical event of the world which has even welcomed more than 1 million of people for 8 editions. Everyone was there to celebrate Techno music. Unfortunately, after the 2010 tragedy in Duisburg due to an organizational problem, the Love Parade didn’t start again.
This year, things will be different. The Love Parade comes back under the name ‘Rave the Planet Parade : Together Again‘. The goal is once again to celebrate electronic music but this year, the organizers have also worked with the UNESCO. They want them to recognize the Berliner Techno as an institution and have some other demands. You can find the list of it just HERE.
Regarding the music, 21 floats with around 200 artists from all around the world will make you dance. Techno, House, Trance and more electronic music will be highlighted. The start of the parade will be on July 9th at 2pm from the Uhlandstraße metro station in Kurfürstendamm. After around 7km, you will arrive in Der Große Stern. Berlin is the place to be for techno lovers, you have to come to this parade.
Even after 12 ears of pause, this non-profit event remains the same intention to gather people around music and especially techno. They also want to show the same values as always : love, peace, solidarity and more. You have to come to live this magical and historical moment. If you want to donate for the claims of Rave the Planet, it’s right HERE.
