Renowned DJ/Producer Nicole Moudaber launches her charity program “Eleven” on the same day as International Day of the Girl Child, which is an effort to raise awareness and money to prevent Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
This cause stands up for the rights of girls who have suffered FGM and attempts to prevent it from happening again. Over 200 million women are globally affected by FGM, with 3.6 more at risk from infancy to the age of 15. FGM leads to cysts, infections, infertility, and sometimes even death.
All of the money Nicole Moudaber raises through “Eleven” will go to Magool, which is a foundation created by psychotherapist and human rights activist Leyla Hussein to support survivors of FGM.
With the campaign, Nicole Moudaber is also raising money by selling leather wristbands.
