RÜFÜS DU SOL, the Grammy-winning live electronic act, has finally released the widely requested audio from their Triple J “Like a Version” cover of Nirvana’s classic ballad, “Something in the Way.”

The song is now available on all streaming platforms, reimagined with haunting synths and a string quartet.

This marks the first time the band has incorporated studio musicians on a piece of recorded work. The cover features RÜFÜS’s Tyrone Lindqvist, who personifies Kurt Cobain’s harrowed songwriting and timbre with a vocal performance that feels authentic to the band’s signature emotive sonics.

The release of “Something in the Way” comes on the heels of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s double Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Recording (“On My Knees”) and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album (“Surrender”). This caps off a momentous triumph of the album that has soundtracked their rise as one of the world’s most celebrated electronic acts.

The band is now gearing up for their own boutique festival experience this spring, Sundream Baja in San José del Cabo, Mexico. Over two weekends in May, the band will perform both live and DJ sets alongside some of the world’s most exciting electronic music acts, including Tale of Us, Dixon, Michael Bibi, WhoMadeWho, Bedouin, Astra Club (DJ Tennis B2B Carlita), and many more.

In addition to musical performances, Sundream Baja features a wellness program, art installations, and surprises amidst the creative playground of El Ganzo Sculpture Garden.

Before the festival, the band will bring their live show to premiere venues around Mexico, including Akron Stadium Esplanade in Zapopan, Parqué Fundidora in Monterrey, and Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City.

RÜFÜS DU SOL’s “Something in the Way” cover adds yet another unique touch to a catalog that has transfixed fans globally, stirring anticipation for what might be on the horizon next.
