Serge Devant

Serge Devant talked about Ibiza and his favorite places to play.

Heavily influenced by the ’90s, the music of DJ/producer Serge Devant recalls a time when artists like the Prodigy, Underworld, and Carl Cox ruled the dancefloor. The Russian native and Music School of Saint Petersburg graduate was living in New York City during the 1990s, hanging out at the legendary Twilo club, falling in love with music, and deciding that DJing was his future. After some gigs at the city’s Tunnel club, Devant became the resident DJ at Crobar beginning in 2006. His debut single, “Part of Me,” followed a year later while 2008 saw a bona fide worldwide hit when he released his cover version of the Beloved’s “blue room” classic, “Sweet Harmony.” In 2009 his single “Addicted” would become the first hit off his debut album, Wanderer, both appearing on the Ultra label. Two years later he filled dancefloors once again with his hit remake of the KLF’s “3 A.M. Eternal,” featuring guest vocalist Taleen. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
