The Dutch duo has given their own spin on Major Lazer’s track “Can’t Take It From Me.”
The trio’s original song has received 1.8 million YouTube hits already, so Showtek made show that they increased the heat of the song through their rework. Skip, who sings in the track (and is actually bob Marley’s grandson!) has his vocals highlighted by the remix, while adding that high-octane drop.
In Showtek’s words, “Very excited to collaborate with Major Lazer again & Skip Marley on this project. We took all the key elements of this and ‘festivalized’ it a bit.”
And speaking of festivals, Showtek had kicked off their global tour just last month at Electroland in Disneyland Paris. They then hit up Music Circus, S20 Songkran Music Festival and Dreamland Festival, and Ministry of Sound.
Showtek has made a name for themselves in the past few years, totalling 1.6 billion views on YouTube and 1 billion streams on Spotify. They’ve collaborated with the likes of Moby, Tiesto, David Guetta, and Hardwell – most recently working with Steve Aoki and MAKJ for party tune “Rave.”
On the other hand, Major Lazer is known globally for his songs with Diplo, Walshy Fire, Ape Drums, Sean Paul, Pharell Williams, and Snoop Dogg – recently being part of a song that hit #5 on the Billboard Dance 100 list last year.
We can’t deny this remix of “Can’t Take It From Me” is spectacular! Check it out! https://open.spotify.com/album/38WPs9imUOXP48otTKVIVQ
