A simple criminal complaint was filed on Friday, June 5, 2026, before the Paris Judicial Court, naming Shaun Baron-Carvais, known under the stage name Shlømo.

According to a statement shared by METOODJS, the complaint concerns alleged acts of rape, psychological violence and death threats. It was filed through Maître Inès Davau, a lawyer at the Paris Bar.

In its statement, METOODJS said the complainant is asking for her voice to be heard, for the alleged facts to be examined by the competent authorities, and for the proceedings to follow their course within a legal framework.

The collective, which works against sexist and sexual violence in the music industry, also reaffirmed the importance of allowing victims to report, testify and file complaints without being subjected to pressure, intimidation or retaliation.

Contacted in relation to the announcement, METOODJS said it would not comment on the identity of the complainant, on any information that could identify her, or on the detailed substance of the allegations. The collective also stated that it would not comment on other ongoing legal proceedings.

METOODJS said it remains available to answer questions about its work supporting victims, the funding needs linked to legal and psychological support, the figures it has collected on sexist and sexual violence in the music industry, and the obstacles victims face when they decide to testify, report or file a complaint.

The complaint comes as the issue of sexist and sexual violence in electronic music continues to raise urgent questions around victim protection, institutional responsibility, access to legal and psychological support, and the industry’s ability to respond to reports without silence, isolation or retaliation.

At this stage, the legal proceedings are ongoing.
